We can afford to open ourselves and join the rest of the world with a sense of tremendous generosity, tremendous goodness, and tremendous richness. The more we give, the more we gain--although what we gain should not particularly be our reason for giving. Rather, the more we give, the more we are inspired to give constantly. And the gaining process happens naturally, automatically.
~ Ocean of Dharma: The Everyday Wisdom of Chogyam Trungpa
Chogyam Trungpa was convinced that compassion and unconditional love were always expressed with the generous selfless heart. When we reveal our Basic Goodness to others via giving, we become much more aware of the Basic Goodness that indwells those we are loving by being generous and giving. It is important that we always view those others as Other-self because in the end there is only One and we are all part of that Oneness which is Love and Light!
(For those who are unfamiliar with Chogyam Trungpa, he was the founder of the Buddhist tradition called Shambhalla, of which I am a follower and practitioner..)
Giving for the sake of receiving is human
Giving for the sake of giving is Angelic.
